good day mates

the weather rather sucks as of late. although...i do want to splash around in the rain =] who's in?

well, been a few days since my last post...don't feel like recapping everything haha. i had made mental notes of funny things to mention and such...but they've all escaped me at this current moment. and probably every moment i try to call them to mind. so...we'll just pick up from yesterday then? although i ought to mention that lisa and i made kate benfield a rather decent 21st bday sign/list considering katie keith wasnt there at the time to do it! the sign in all its glory made it back home with the bday girl...granted the bottom tore off when she leap frogged into a bar, but hey, sometimes sacrifices have to be made in order to accomplish the 21st bday list.

right so yesterday, parents came to drop off barstools and give me and my friends food and cheesecake. mmmm. many thanks to my roomies and clarkin for helpin me clean the apartment to make it presentable to my pops! and thanks lisa and katie keith for carrying out stuff when they got ready to leave..while i didnt have to carry anything. that's why i keep yall around. clearly.

then Kate Hodges arrived at clemson! tater nug!! we went to el jimador for din din with Will, who decided to pay for all of us. well sir, we'll have to get your meal next time! and sad days me and will couldnt play tennis today. effin storm. but it's ok, mario tennis is our second best alternative. (correction there's a no rain window between 1:30-3:45 ish!)

then we went back to hart's cove to play catch phrase. best game ever. nay, catchphrase: more than a game, it's a way of life. so if you ever play with us, bring your A game, cuz i'm gunna THREAD THE NEEDLE!!! haha

although, katie and i got distracted towards the end of playing catchphrase owing to the presence of disney songs katie pulled up on youtube.

and then we went off to fall asleep...to the dulcet tones of....what sounded like a tornado outside. cool. and proceeded to wake up to a hurricane. hope my biff made it home in one piece! or at least 2, i'll accept 2 and under.

and so here i am, contemplating whether to run before lunch or after lunch and picking out the songs i wanna run to. that ronald jenkees guitar sound song always starts me off. and the other day i ran to looking back at earth by sts9. yea that's the kind of music i run to.

otay well i guess i'll leave you with some random pictures

the view from our porch/balcony

and oh clarkin...organizing silly bands like they're in noah's ark. all paired up!...and then she tortured me with my own weapons of destruction, AKA nerf gun. but it's been delightful having you stay up here with us! =D and im so jealous that you get to go european country hopping in a matter of days!!!!

Will cooked a delicious meal involving some of my favorite foods! AKA, bacon, cheese, honey mustard, chicken. i am def going to start cooking it
que sabroso!

lisa =]
and what i had at triple t's!!
and biffle, im sry ur not in clemson this summer =[ i promise to try to not make you feel left out by excessively talking about what we did without you. and i'll defend your bubble wrap. and we'll def eat at triple ts when you come back biff!! but meanwhile you go make dat moneys! you know it's more fun with you around anyways right =]

midday groove

slower jams...
boo why are the carriage house 12 and michael warren songs i want not on youtube?

today i will be working out to ronald jenkees

clean cotton

im playing with fire. and i dont mean figuratively. i've lit candles. nothing is safe.

anyhoo...exercising today was interesting. i feel like the energizer bunny. but not in a good way, a sort of restless but it's ok cuz im getting in shape way. suppose it works. here are some songs that came up while i worked out:

interesting array eh? ...(canada biff?)

and this fellah popped up, Matt Jackson's "She's More". i feel like there are a million matt's who play acoustic ish songs

and look what mel brought back from the beach =] cant wait for a thunderstorm

otay...time for bed?....yea time for bed.

5.24.2010

chill pill

wow whats wrong with me. i was trying to multitask earlier by stringing my electric guitar while talking to my mom on the phone. guess i couldnt pull that off too well cuz i ended up popping the D string while trying to tune it while talkin to mom. and then i got so frustrated about it. and it put me in the worst mood. just popping a single guitar string!! sheesh. i need to find a chill pill or somethin to calm me down. im still angry from yesterday i guess. just didnt think i was at the point of having little things blow me over. it surprised me. i havent felt like this since that one summer when i was a total screw up and got my car and phone taken away from me and so i did nothing but exercise and read.

::sigh:: let's get it together irene. woosah. let it go. well the newly placed coffee table of melissa's is perfect for setting my guitar on to work on. i took some deep breaths and actually successfully restrung and cleaned the acoustic. it was a lil soothing.

alright perhaps i'll go exercise...again. with my basketball shoes? i left my running shoes at home. gosh with all my shoes i only have one pair on me. i usually have an old pair in the back but i threw those out last month. bob sagot! ...so hey this year maybe i'll try to utilize all my shoes instead of wearing flip flops or chucks all the time.

wake up world!

i woke up to this song at 6 in the morning

pssst, you are the best thing =]

1 sheep 2 sheep 3 sheep

o no. i can feel it. insomnia is about to launch an attack.

nooooo. no no, i gotta be on campus at 8. i gotta find some tylenol pm! but dont feel like venturing out to get some

maybe some warm milk?

5.23.2010

'arry pottah

so within the first ten minutes of me turning in to harts cove, slight not so disastrous but still horrible events befell me. first 3 fire ants emerged from who knows where while i was about to park and bit me. i swerved like i was driving miss daisy. and then i ran up to my bathroom because i needed to pee like seabiscuit. and in my haste i cut my finger on my belt buckle and it bled everywhere. and then i went to the mailbox and noticed it said "Bryan Mortera". so either bryan forgot to forward his address or we have a roomate we dont know about, or ive been changed into a boy.

great stuff no? well on the bright side, we have a historical coffee table. it's melissa's great grandmother's. and melissa used to play with her barbies on it. remember that if you ever use it. and we just scored free barstools. and mom asked if we needed anything else. i feel like mrs. gilmore is furnishing our apartment.

then i got a lovely phone call from Dad. NOT. funny how things don't change. ya know i learned about me in life span development psychology. about kids who arent raised with enough positive reinforcement. and so they're angry. i spent a good bit of my teen years angry. and i am angry now.

well anyway, me and lissa are now having a good ol' fashion harry potter marathon so i can get my mind off of it and calm down. except we're starting with number four so we can see rob pattinson.

and my thoughts go out to all you lost fans tonight. may this be the end of your torture, anger, bafflement, and downright craziness.

i just ate a cookie,...starting to feel much better

5.21.2010

it's friday it's friday!!!!

waiting for class to start...someone get on skype and keep me awake!

also, i want fries...the other day i ate fries but since i bit my cheek the salt caused me physical pain...but i kept eating them. naturally.

pharmacy joys

"A 70 year old man at CVS faked a heart attack while I was ringing up his prescriptions. My heart started to pound really fast then he started laughing at my face. Old man=1 Cyn=0. But guess who's refilling your prescription tomorrow..."

mangia mangia!

"Buy a pound or less of ground beef. (I buy a blend of veal/pork/beef). If you can get that, do. To that I add 3-5 slices of Italian bread, wet and squeezed out. Crumble this into your meat. Couple tbs. of fresh chopped parsley or tiny bit of dried. 1/4 cup of grated romano cheese and one beaten egg. Pepper. Blend together with hands. Form into little footballs and brown in fry pan.

Note: they can be eaten just like this or put in your sauce. Don't leave in sauce more than an hour or they may disintegate."
melissa's grandma's DELICIOUS meatball recipe!!! twas an awesome dinner of ravioli and meatballs and bread...with dirt pudding for dessert! (picture below is still in the making...i just really like the swirls.) chocolate pudding + cool whip + crushed oreos on top. mmmm.
melissa is used to eating dessert at 8 so we were made to digest and wait for it haha. lisa, mel, and i were wanting it so badly by the time 8 o clock rolled around!
ms brittany came over for a bit too. and told us about a field of daisies near her house. and i, newly reunited with my camera, got really excited!!

then Will came over for a game or two of spades with lisa and mel and i...im kinda amazing at it. ;) NOT! but i will get better!

...i should go study...man im already sick of classes...excited for tennis tmrw!!!!! the only thing getting me through. ...o wait, and maybe going to the library with lisa...that's just as exciting...i kid, i kid. anyone wanna play tmrw after dinner? we might need a fourth!

and katie gets her wisdom teeth out in 7 ish hours! haha who knows what her drugged up self will let slip to the world. i never did anything like that. my stories aren't as cool as everyone else's, but how i acted when i was numb was quite comical.

well, i will leave you with what i read on my vitamin water bottle at 8 in the morning this bright sunny day:
"if you ask us, it's no coincidence that 'morning' and 'mourning' are only one letter apart. ok sure, there are a few good things about mornings (we're looking at you, pancakes). otherwise, forget it. not only does a 15 min snooze pass in what feels like a blink, but let's be honest, the sound of birds chirping is a bit overrated. so to help get your day started off right, we added calcium and 120% of your daily value of vitamin c per serving. we think it'll brighten your day. but don't worry, not rip-open-curtains-with-no-warning kind of brighter"

5.19.2010

no no

me to leah across skype: "so im making my grocery list, anything you think i need on it?"
leah: "cheese balls."

ohhh leah. well back to watching INT VS BAR.

vamos barca!!!!!!!!!! (it's a replay but still, totally worth it)

world cup in 23 days!!!!!

5.18.2010

wisdomosity already gone

melissa: "are your wisdom teeth impacted or exploding?"
katie keith: "yea they're still in there."

nice one biff

5.15.2010

5.13.2010

wanting to be back at harts cove

dad saw jane eyre, les mis, and hp6 stacked on top of each other on my desk and asked me when i started reading dictionaries...i havent, because i havent made any significant dents in any of those books. that didnt surprise him.

i need "to start reading thicker books: they lasted longer and made more comfortable pillows"- the alchemist

played tennis with dad today. some little kid walked onto the court, saw my ballhopper full of tennis balls and screamed for joy, just as he was an arm's length away from it his mother yanked him away. ive never seen such despair in a little kid's eyes as he was carried away. poor kid. that's how i feel when dessert not meant for me passes in front of me.

being home in charleston is nice...but im anxious to head back to clemson. there are more people i love in the 864 =]
"it's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting"--the alchemist

"when each day is the same as the next, it's because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises"--...can you tell im reading the alchemist?

"the boy felt jealous of the freedom of the wind, and saw that he could have the same freedom"

5.11.2010

hkjnbkjugg

i currently resemble a speckled egg. sort of like a quail egg. (i paint walls excitedly apparently)

well folks, this is the first official post from my new apartment at harts cove! im exhausted from everything we had to do today. whooo.

but we just had a delicious dinner and are lounging around till glee =] with melissa, melanie, brittany, and katie queen,...who is winding a humongous ball of pink yarn. it resembles a large pygmy puff! i want to let it sit on my shoulder while we watch glee.

5.10.2010

you. make this sandwich.

put a small amount of olive oil into a bowl and add a dash of parmesan and tuscany herbs. and mix. spread this mixture over two pieces of bread (pesto works just as good). proceed to make a sandwich out of desired meat and cheese. include fresh tomato slices. then grill the sandwich. yumm. and no that was not just my snack even though we had dinner a meer 2.5 hrs ago...

i bought fresh tomatoes and zuccini today from a local vegetable vender...delicious. i was however at publix earlier today with mom. she went in before me while i parked. but when i tried to walk into publix after parking, the automatic door wouldnt open for me. i had to awkwardly stand in front of them for a little bit before they finally opened...publix didnt think i was cool enough to be let in =(

also, who knew, dad can speak 4 languages. i didnt know that till i heard him over the phone. gosh, im struggling to be trilingual before grad/pa/pharm school applications and he's been, er, quadrolingual? all this time! i couldve been learning those languages mister! thanks for holding out on me!

as i walked up our stairs just now i thought aliens were overtaking the front lawn. there was an eerie glow that changed colors...i was like what the hell is that? turns out my parents have invested in a solar powered butterfly that lights up at night. i suppose that's a good use for $10?

well, off to read HP6/jane eyre/les mis/espn world cup magazine...im sort of in the middle of reading all of that. then up early to head to clemson to paint and clean...ps the reserve can SUCK IT.

5.09.2010

beeptastic

"hey did you see that video uncle rey posted on my wall?" - Dad

whoa, old people with technology is mind blowing.

also, i just got debriefed on how to use the new washer and dryer...remember when our dryer broke and i had to fashion a clothesline out of who knows what? well we have since upgraded...because our new washer/dryer combo sings to me. like when you turn it on it beeps a tune. and each cycle has a different tune. and each button has a different sound. all i could do was stare helplessly while clutching the detergent as it beeped a symphony at me. after yelling "i just wanna wash a single load of laundry you robot!", mom came to my rescue and told me how to tame the beast. so operation washing the clothes is finally a possibility.

and this just in. some of you may have been following this story very closely...particularly those of you who have been in my car for this past month. but my car has been cleaned and vacuumed. ::pauses for audience gasp:: yes folks, the deed has been done. i have finally cleaned my car. it's hard when the interior is black you know, it accumulates a lot of visible dirt....that combined with the fact that my car was filled with copious amounts of random crap. but the situation has since been remedied.

thank you for listening folks, that's all i got for this segment. back to you john.

5.08.2010

the perfect storm

there's something breathtakingly beautiful about the rustle of leaves against evening silence...beautifully foreboding that is. it's the last thing i noticed before stepping into the house.

but that is for another time, in another blog, that is not meant for your eyes...hmm in retrospect the above makes it sound like i walked in on a murder scene. which is oddly creepy because the first ever movie score from a horror movie just popped up on my itunes radio channel...ooooooh spooky. MUFASA. ooooooh

randomosity strikes....
1. i am reading les miserables...that book is long...829 pages. if im ever stranded and need to make a fire, hopefully this book is on my person. im pretty sure its width could stop a bullet.
2. mother has purchased a hair straightner and is well versed in the ways of accentuating her new layers...i still cant believe it.
3. i wish i had my camera for mother's day tmrw.
4. this blogpost is lame and i apologize. =/
5. this is apparently my 200th post...whooohooo lets throw a party ::grabs solitary party popper, gives it a tug, pauses to let contents fall to floor, walks away::
6. "irene takes a tumble"-tay jacks
7. im mentally and physically exhausted and am going to bed in 5, 4, 3, 2,....::stare at ceiling::
8. "if i were ever in the wild, i'd be f*&%ed"-benfield
9.i feel like running. maybe in the morning before church? let's take bets on whether i'll actually do that, the odds and my reputation are strongly against me.
10. a big fat hen!

got a feelin i cant shake

my hand is begging for my pen with an intensity that is pulsing through my fingertips and radiating through my entire being.

i cant wait for a moment to breath in deeply and exhale a sea of long awaited words.

but first must wrap things up at clemson and then go home...hope things go well at the homestead.

5.02.2010

RMA vs OSA

taking a break from packing...and from life...to watch Real Madrid versus Osasuna...Ronaldo makes scoring look so effortless...too bad i dont like him.

5.01.2010

harts cove harts cove harts cove

moving into a new apartment...would document the process but my camera is off being repaired for 2 weeks =[

but i did stumble upon this fascinating clip that is somehow yet not at all related to the fact that i am moving into a different apartment
